Live streaming of the inaugural IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings on Friday turned out to be a big hit on the net.
The Indiatimes site, where this edition of the IPL is being hosted, had as many as 500,000 unique visitors, a healthy jump from last year.
The increasing numbers on the site indicate bigger numbers of young viewers are watching the IPL on the net. The site's social integration with Facebook was a "huge plus", said Monish Yadav, a young viewer who followed the match on the net, adding that comments from friends showed up below the match. "It was like watching the game with friends," he said. He was happy he could watch the match from office as well.
